Case Study Rab – public lecture, June 17th 2015

The first campaign of archaeological excavations on the island of Rab – the forgery and a part of city walls in the town of Rab, and the church of St Lawrence in Banjol – raised quite an interest of the local population. In order to disseminate the activities of the CROMART project, a public lecture was given on June the 17th 2015 in the Town Hall of Rab.

Project team members G. P. Brogiolo, A. Chavarria and M. Jurković, after detailing the two excavation sites, explained to the public the relevance of such research in better understanding and incorporating Cultural Heritage in everyday life and its use in getting added value to tourism.

The lecture was the starting point in communication with local authorities: a meeting with the mayor followed, and talks about the future of our research on the island and its relevance for the community have started.
