Case study Rab – Public lecture, October 3rd 2015

On October the 3rd 2015 a public lecture “Presentation of the research and display of the new application: Rab – a Walk through the Past” was given by project team members A. Chavarria, G. P. Brogiolo and M. Jurković in Rab.

The first part of the tripartite lecture was consecrated to the excavations of the church of St Lawrence in Banjol, the second on the excavations in the town of Rab (a part of the city walls and the forgery), both taking place at that moment.

However, the utmost interest was raised by the presentation of a new application entitled Rab – a Walk through the Past. The application was developed during the summer school held a week earlier in Rab. This pilot product, suitable for tablets and phones, is meant for consumers of different levels – from children to scientists – offering in a sophisticated manner information on the town of Rab through the voices of animated medieval citizens, walking through the streets of the medieval town.

The event was also the occasion to further the talks with the local community, interested in purchasing the innovative application for enhancing the tourist offer of the town.
