The excavations of the monastery of St Mary the Great in Istria continued from the 11th to the 23rd of October 2016. During the campaign, archaeologists have been clearing vegetation and excavating the remains of the western perimeter wall of the monastery complex. Under the supervision of archaeologists, construction company specialized in heritage building conservation has been simultaneously working on the conservation of the western wall in order to preserve it and to present it as an integral structure of the vast monastery complex.

Beside project team members involved in the excavation (led by A. Milošević and M. Jurković), other team members took part in documenting the finds (R. Starac, M. Bradanović, S. Mustač, M. Levak), as well as a group of students from Zagreb University.
