25th IRCLAMA colloquium, Poreč, May 22nd-28th 2018

The 25th annual colloquium, held in Poreč, Istria, was organized by the International Research Center for Late Antiquity and Middle Ages, in close cooperation with the CROMART project, financed by the Croatian Science Foundation.

This jubilee Colloquium has gathered close to a hundred art historians, historians and archaeologists from Europe, United States and Japan, continuing to be one of the most prominent scientific events related to the research of late antique and medieval heritage.

The program was divided into 5 main sessions, all of them goals of the CROMART project: A quarter of a century of history of medieval art in Europe, between two centuries: the critical approaches crossed; Sepultures and funerary ceremonies in churches (4th -15th c.); The construction of ecclesiastic networks (4th -13th c.); New approaches and tools in the archaeological study of late-antique and medieval churches and finally Sites of power in the city and its surroundings: topography, architecture, functions and decoration, each of which bringing new research results which have initiated series of discussions.

Besides the sessions, five new scientific publications have been presented, concluding the work carried out under the CROMART project: new 24th issue of Hortus Artium Medievalium with the material from the last year’s colloquium and 4 publications from the Dissertationes et Monographiae series: De la passion à la création.
