The ninth volume of the series Dissertationes et Monographie, published by the International Research Center for Late Antiquity and the Middle Ages of the University of Zagreb, was presented to the public on May 23rd 2018, during the annual colloquium of the Center in Poreč, Croatia.
This book is a hommage to Alain Erlande-Brandenburg, one of the most prominent figures in contemporary medieval studies, not only in the francophone sphere, but also worldwide. He is one of the leading experts for Romanesque and Gothic art. He was the director of the National Museum of Renaissance in Château d’Écouen from 1980 to 1987, director of the Musée de Cluny from 1991 to 1994 and director of Museum of the Renaissance from 1999 to 2005. He was Inspector General of the French museums in 1988 and today bears the title of the Honorary General Curator for Heritage.Miljenko Jurković, the principal researcher of the project, and Xavier Barral i Altet, the team member, have written the introductory texts followed by the Erlande-Brandenburg’s interview with Arnauld Timbert. Erlande-Brandenburg’s complete bibliography is listed and followed by the block of articles, among others, by the team members Ivan Matejčić, Pascale Chevalier, Gian Pietro Brogiolo, Christian Sapin and Vinni Lucherini.
